PT Reska Multi Usaha (PT RMU) is a company jointly established by KAI with Yayasan Pusaka on July 2nd, 2003 in Jakarta. Shareholders of PT Reska are KAI holding 95.01% and Yayasan Pusaka holding 4.99%. At first PT RMU was a restaurant unit under KaDaop which managed most of restaurant trains. Then in 2003 PT Restoran Kereta Api (PT RESKA) was established as a subsidiary of KAI. Subsequently, in 2009 changed its name to PT Reska Multi Usaha (RMU).

PT Bukit Asam Tbk, from now on referred to as “Company” or “PTBA” was established on March 2, 1981. The forerunner of the establishment of the Company began in the Dutch colonial era which was marked by the operation of the Air Laya mine in Tanjung Enim in 1919.

On December 23, 2002, the Company listed its stocks on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with the code / ticker “PTBA” by making an initial public offering of 346,500,000 shares consisting of 315,000,000 state-owned divestment shares. This led the status changed into a Public Company under the name PT Tambang Batu Bara Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk.
