PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk or Bank BTN  was established in 1897 under the name of Postspaarbank. The name was changed to Bank Tabungan Pos in 1950 and finally became Bank Tabungan Negara in 1963. PT Superintending Company of Indonesia (Persero) (hereinafter referred to as SUCOFINDO) has officially joined the Survey Services Holding named IDSurvey together with PT Biro Statistik Indonesia (Persero) as the holding company and PT Surveyor Indonesia.

SUCOFINDO was established on October 22, 1956 based on the Notarial Deed Number 42, drawn up by Johan Arifin Lumban Tobing Sutan Arifin. Initially, SUCOFINDO focused on Inspection and Supervision services in the trading sector, especially in agriculture commodities, as well as assisted the government in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and securing the foreign exchange in export import trade.

In 1955, when the Indonesian government established Bank Indonesia as the Central Bank, BNI began operations as a commercial bank. Furthermore, the role of BNI as a bank that was mandated to improve the people’s economy and participate in national development was confirmed by Law No. 17 Year 1968 on Bank Negara Indonesia 1946.
